Simplifying Employee Benefits

Established in 1997 as a sole proprietorship, benefitsFIRST later incorporated in California. We provide marketing and management solutions to your employee benefits, such as Life, Medical, and, Dental Plans. We can help your human resources department with the administration of your Employee Benefits Program.

We also provide assistance with the CoveredCA Marketplace for families and small businesses. benefitsFIRST also helps seniors with Medicare Plans support and other community programs for low-income families.

What we offer

benefitsFIRST is an independent insurance agency. We work with carriers admitted within our state licenses. We work closely with certain carriers such as Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross, HealthNet and Aetna. We also provide assistance with enrollment in the California’s CoveredCA Marketplace, the program developed to provide a benefits exchange as required by healthcare reform for individuals and small businesses.

Biography

Eduardo
Bohon

Eduardo earned his MBA from Loyola Marymount University. He also holds a BA in International Business from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He has over 25 years of managed care and employee benefit plans experience.

Ed is Broker & CEO of benefitsFIRST, Inc. an insurance agency specializing in employee benefits. Prior to starting benefitsFIRST in 1997, Ed worked for Jefferson-Pilot (JP Financial) and MassMutual as Account Executive where he gained his managed care experience and managed over $63m in premium revenue. His experience includes managed plan product development in early EPO contracts to underwriting and sales of large national accounts.

Ed served in the US Navy Reserves and USMC during his early college years with the 1st Marine Division. He was mobilized to Active Duty for Desert Storm during the Kuwait/Iraq conflict. He received multiple commendations and was Honorably Discharged from the Reserves in 1995.

Member of multiple organizations, such as the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, ALPFA, and local Chambers of Commerce.
